What’s Involved?
A breast lift, or mastopexy, reshapes and adds volume to sagging breasts as a result of aging, gravity, genetics, weight fluctuations, or pregnancy and breastfeeding. Breasts are lifted by removing excess skin and tightening tissue to provide better support. A breast lift will not change the size of your breasts or round out the upper part of our breast, so you may want to consider breast implants along with the lift to get the additional volume you desire. A breast lift can restore youthful curves and proportion to your breasts.
During your consultation with Dr. Lussier, he will discuss the following options:
- Surgical approach:
- Crescent Lift or Crescent Mastopexy
- Donut Lift or Concentric Mastopexy
- Lollipop Lift or Vertical Mastopexy
- Anchor Lift or Formal Mastopexy
- Use of breast implants or not
- If breast implant will be used, then the following decisions will be made:
- Saline vs. Silicone implants
- Placement of implant (above or below the pectoralis muscle)
- Implant size
- If breast implant will be used, then the following decisions will be made:
- Reshape breast with liposuction to re-contour the breast
