What’s Involved?
Fat grafting is also known as fat injections or fat transfer. Fat grafting involves harvesting fat cells from other parts of your body by liposuction, purifying them and then injecting them into the treatment site. Fat can be taken from your abdomen, buttocks, hips, thighs or jowls.
Facial fat grafting is done to increase facial volume and fill in lines and wrinkles. Fat grafting in your cheeks will add volume to hollow or sunken appearance. Fat grafting in your lips will augment lips to a fuller and more sensual look.
There is no fear of having an allergic reaction, so this is a great alternative if have an allergy to certain injectable treatments such as Botox® and other dermal fillers. Fat grafting lasts longer than other injectable fillers, but is not permanent and will require additional treatments to maintain the enhancements. Results are often immediate and there is minimal downtime. Some swelling and bruising may occur in the treated areas.
